Kinski by Kinski

Today I am wearing Kinski by Kinski.

Another Geza Schoen classic and created to mark the 20th anniversary of the actor Klaus Kinski's death. The perfume celebrates Kinski’s life and his lifestyle.

I blow hot and cold with this one. Today I’m not in love with it. I’m picking up marijuana, a slight hint of vomit and plenty of cigarettes. I know that doesn’t sound very nice, but sometimes this perfume catches me and smells beautiful.

Blended notes pepper, nutmeg, ginger, cassis, juniper, neroli, orchid, magnolia, rose, and plum sound wonderful together, but then wading into the mix comes animalic notes of castoreum and ambergris, woody notes of patchouli and cedar, smoky vetiver, sweet resinous cistus with benzoin, oakmoss and musk.

What a blend! It’s definitely worth a squirt onto your wrists and several sniffs over a couple of hours as the perfume twists and turns, lures and repels, whispers and shouts….

What a complex blend, what a fascinating scent, what an adventure for my nose.
