Perfume Thursday: Viktor and Rolf - Spicebomb

With Saffron being this week's chosen aroma and a popular choice at that - see our facebook post here for some of our customer's comments -  we decided review a fragrance that matched that popularity: Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf.

Spicebomb, which includes Saffron, has an air of elegance and sophistication about it, making it so much more than just a man's aftershave. Made in response to the amount of love given by women to Flowebomb, Spicebomb is the masculine alternative and includes Red Pepper, Cinnamon, Paprika, Leather, Tobacco, Vetiver, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Elemi and of course Saffron.

With one spray it explodes into a spicy/citrus fragrance bringing it to life energetically. The Bergamot and Grapefruit lend a refreshing tone while the Cinnamon and other spices offer a moreish, interesting and irresistible quality.

It has a powerful and bold opening, just how we'd expect a masculine fragrance to be. To wear as a woman, Spicebomb conjures up ideas of handsome and distinguished gentlemen, the kind you see in the Disney movies.

As it matures, it warms and deepens creating a spicier, more sensual perfume. It's sexy and confident, easy and enjoyable to wear and even more enjoyable to smell on your partner in an embrace.

After a couple of hours wear, the perfume takes on a smoky and mysterious personality - not ash tray smoky and seedy gentleman's club mystery - but a deep, dark leathery kind of smoky. It's alluring and seductive while being easy to wear making it ideal for both day and night.

We all enjoyed wearing it and although none of the male Plush Folly employees were around to review it, we think it's quite interesting to read about Spicebomb from a female's perspective.

If our husbands/boyfriends/fancies wore this perfume we'd be mightily impressed. It's complex, diverse and interesting, changing and developing before our noses each step of the way. It lasts around three hours which is great; plenty of time for it to become familiar and comforting.

Does anyone else like or wear Spicebomb? Let us know!

Any orders placed via the Plush Folly website on 15/08/14 will receive a free sample of Saffron in with their order! Get shopping here.
