Daim Blond by Serge Lutens

Another Serge Lutens for us to try as since our perfume of the week is Daim Blond.

Daim Blond translates to ‘white suede’ and there is a definitely softer edge to this compared to my personal Serge favourite (Serge Noire) which is rich, dark and leathery in comparison.

The perfume contains hawthorn, cardamom, iris, apricot (our fragrance of the week), heliotrope, musk and leather.  The initial and most apparent aroma is the fuzzy fruitiness courtesy of the apricot which somehow helps to transform the soft leather into soft suede.  The cardamom gives it warmth while the musk gives it depth.

I keep smelling my wrists – the aroma hasn’t changed much over the last few hours.  There is a dusty sweetness to it that is innocuous and pleasant.

Unlike Serge Noire it won’t turn heads, but it will appeal to a wider audience who like a strong perfume without being too bold.
