Jimmy Choo Man

Just the words Jimmy Choo conjure up feelings of luxurious and beautiful things with the PF team - our undying admiration for those amazing shoes (and those who can walk in them!) is almost as big an obsession as our love of perfume, so would this be our perfect combination?

Jimmy Choo Man starts as quite lively but without the sharpness that can come with fragrances that have citrus as part of their top notes, there is something a little more gentle.  Our first impression is that we very much like it, there is a fruity element but not sharp or sweet, as well as something else we couldn't quite put our finger on.  Once we discovered that the fruits were melon (our smell of the week is melonal) and pineapple leaf we were a little taken aback as in no way is this a tropical kind of aroma at all.  And that note we couldn't quite identify - suede, luxurious, soft and delightful.  Without suede this would be a very different fragrance - whilst it doesn't scream shoes and handbags to us, we would say it is very much needed.

The combination of the fruits and suede along with pink pepper and lavender make for a very appealing opening altogether.  As the fragrance dries down the woody note of patchouli emerges but in the same gentle way, not strong or overpowering.

This fragrance makes us think of those city slickers all converging at the train station early in the morning ready to face another day, and whilst being a very acceptable gents fragrance we're not sure we could distinguish it from the many others on the market.  It's a safe smell, one that could be worn by any age group.

Our only criticism is that is doesn't last long enough - the dry down does give us that 'I want to snuggle into your neck' kind of feeling but fades away before you and your date have made it to the restaurant.  We love that it's not overwhelming but perhaps it goes just a little too far the other way.
