Perfume Thursday: Armani Code Luna by Giorgio Armani
We were excited to try this perfume since the advertisement promised us something we'd not experienced yet...
"Inspired by the beautiful Moonflower; a rare and precious flower known to blossom and bloom from the light of the moon. The delicate petals close when touched by the sun at dawn. Known as Princess of the Night this is a pretty, distinctive floral with clean, fresh undertones which evokes peace and tranquillity as well as magic and mystery"
...but I have to report mixed feelings in the Plush Folly camp again!
The aroma is reminiscent of sweet florals such as Flowerbomb, Jimmy Choo and Bonbon with lashings of vanilla. But instead of being sweetshop sweet it is more kinky sweetshop as there are definite hints of leather in there too giving it an unusual twist.
Bryony loves it and thinks it pretty, feminine, gentle and soft but wishes it lasted longer than the 2 hours on her skin. Nickie finds it heavy and dull, doesn't want to smell of it and wishes it would last less than the three hours it lingered on her skin!
My feeling is that it isn't different enough from many other florientals available to make me reach out in eager anticipation. We chose it because it contains this week's aroma (osmanthus, an apricot floral) but even though the perfume is laced with fruity bergamot, pear, bitter orange and orange blossom nobody commented that it had a fruity element. Perhaps the vanilla, tonka, leather and cedar cancelled them out and made it an entirely different perfume, maybe that was Giorgio's plan.
Have you tried it? Let us know what you think.
