The Apprentice Soap

What a treat to watch The Apprentice last night! For those of you that didn't catch it, the two teams were taken down to Lush in Poole where they had to design, make, package and sell two bath and beauty products.

One team went with honey soap and bubble bath - they collected the honey from local hives and then strangely put more honey than soap ingredients into their product...and yes, ended up with a very stick bar that glooped all over the place when it was taken out of the wrapper!

The other team chose to make a seaweed, watercress, lavender & sandalwood soap. They collected the seaweed from the beach rocks in Poole, sourced the watercress locally and were well on their way to making a fabulous product. Gosh, and yes it was fabulous as they chose lavender and cedarwood essential oils to fragrance their products. Unfortunately confusion arose amongst the team and they reached for the sandalwood instead of the cedarwood....hmmmm, a costly mistake. Sandalwood comes in at over £1,000 a kilo and therefore they included £700 worth of essential oils in the soap. Now that makes a fabulous soap and I hope that if you purchased one, you will treasure it!
