Bella Freud by Bella Freud

Looking at the description of this fragrance we were pretty keen to get spritzing - balsamic, resinous and woody notes with a hint of floral to entice us in - delicious!

This fragrance is so base note heavy that it takes a while to reveal its true self - a bit like a teenager trying to surface in the morning - it takes a while but once fully awake they really are a very welcome addition to the proceedings!  The floral notes of osmanthus and ylang-ylang have a wonderful exotic quality and lead on to something so much more deep and resinous that we find a little grin creeping across our face every time we catch a whiff of this fragrance.  Patchouli, vetiver, cedar, amber (our aroma of the week) and musk blend beautifully together into a warm embrace that could easily be one of Bella Freud's knitwear items such is the feeling it gives us.

We wouldn't say that this fragrance changes very much on the skin, those big, bold base notes just emerge slowly but once they are out there, they hang around for a good while, keeping us cosy and warmed right down to our toes.
