Coromandel by Les Exclusifs de Chanel

Well....... what a treat to end the year on!   For our last perfume review of 2015 we have the delightful task of having to wear Coromandel ..... for a whole week!!!

This, for some of us, is such a 'Chanel smell', it just seems to be so unmistakeable that it couldn't possibly have come from any other perfume house.

The top notes are citrus and there seems to be quite a contrast between sharp and sweet initially, but in our opinion this is fleeting and we are quickly enveloped by the delicious warmer notes.  This fragrance is rich, deep and complex but in the name of all things fragrant we will do our utmost to describe it (tough we know but we are willing to take one for the team here.......!).

The combination of incense notes, patchouli, benzoin and frankincense (aka olibanum and our aroma of the week) give it a beautiful warm feeling. Although it has white chocolate and vanilla notes it most definitely is not a sweet perfume. Rose, jasmine and other white flowers are present but neither is it a floral perfume.   If we are pushed to describe it we would say it is gourmand oriental but with the emphasis being on the incense and resins.  This is a hefty, sophisticated, fragrance with maturity and fabulous longevity, we feel elegant and oh so grown up when we wear it.

If you have the opportunity to try this fragrance, please do.  It needs time on your skin for the warmth to develop and its true beauty to emerge, but in our opinion most definitely worth waiting for.
