This week we have been wearing Habanita by Molinard.
The jury is out on this one and it would seem that the younger members of the Plush Folly crew aren’t as keen as others. It isn’t a subtle perfume, it is tenacious and the office air is laden with clouds of smoky leather.
From the first spritz you know this perfume is best avoided by those who prefer light, fresh, soft scents. As the concentrated oomph of mind-blowingly powerful dark juice trickles down my wrists I know that this one is in for the long haul.
Vintage tobacco, rich heavy florals, powdery amber, sweet vanilla and dark dark leather unfurl, mingle and give the illusion of an old steam train smoking carriage, a gentleman’s club and the back office of a cigar specialist all rolled into one.
It is dirty (that’s thanks to the leather, our aroma of the week), powdery (amber) and chokingly deep (patchouli and vetiver).
I understand that there is also petitgrain and lemon (but where?) with a floral layer comprising heliotrope, mimosa, ylang ylang, jasmine and rose (yep, the heavier florals are definitely there) plus cedar, sandalwood, and nutmeg. The combination is nicely filthy, expensive smelling and sensuous.
And very intense…..
