Ambra Nera by Ortigia Sicilia

Today I am wearing Ambra Nera by Ortigia Sicilia.

I knew from the moment I took the lid off this bottle that I was going to love it.  Deep, sexy, dark and laced with frankincense, labdanum, patchouli, spices, resins and oakmoss – what’s not to love?  It’s so similar to our amber resin so for those of you who have had the opportunity to try that, you’ll know exactly what this perfume smells of.

It is heavy, musty and with more than a hint of old…it is definitely not for those that prefer a subtle wispy aroma since there is not a trace of fruit, floral or clean fresh ozonic in here. 

It reminds me of a rail of grand velvety clothing pushed to the back of a theatre but long forgotten.  Tinged with stage makeup, expensive cigarette smoke, cognac, dust and memories of great times, this perfume has a grandeur element to it that makes this perfume a true treasure.
