Orange Blossom by Jo Malone

As with many perfumes from the Jo Malone range you kinda know what your going to get from the name and this is no exception.  Orange Blossom is a light and delicate floral scent with a slight under-ripe/green citrus note that neroli (our aroma of the week) brings.

We wait a while for the other aromas in the blend to emerge but on this occasion we don't seem to be able to detect much change at all.  Citron, green notes, clementine, lotus and lilac are all included, but even so, we found the perfume to be quite linear - neroli is most definitely the most evident of the aromas from beginning to end.

Perhaps this was the intention as Jo Malone rather cleverly introduced the concept of 'Fragrance Combining'  - whether that be body cream overlaid with perfume, body wash with body cream or two perfumes.
Such a fabulous idea, the ability to mix and match to suit your mood or occasion and create your very own signature scent. The suggestion for making Orange Blossom a warmer scent would be to combine with Dark Amber & Ginger Lily or for a lighter/fresher scent try with White Jasmine & Mint.    Our minds (and noses) are trying very hard to imagine them, leading to many suggestions of our favourite smell combinations.

If you are looking for a perfume with depth and character - this alone may not be the one for you.
There won't be any big surprises as it settles, the dry down is exactly the same as the moment we sprayed it, but why should all perfumes have to change - sometimes what we experience in the first sniff is what we want to hold on to.
